Hi, my name is Sara, and I am addicted to crafts. ("HI SARA!!). I'm also a wife, full time nursing student (graduating in April 2013), and Mom to 3 crazy boys. I love to do almost every craft (except for knitting ... sorry, it's just too time consuming for me), but embroidery, paper crafts and sewing are the top 3 that I am most passionate about. I really cannot pick a true favorite ... I am split on which of the 3 is my fave ... hence the name of my blog, the split stitch. On any given day, you can find me at a local craft store ...I am the lady with bits of floss, thread, fabric, glue and paper stuck to her clothes.
I don't have a degree in design, a published book, or a new line of fabric coming out, but I hope you will enjoy what I have to offer anyways! Everything that I know how to do, craft-wise, I have learned through reading books, blogs, tutorials, and (mostly) pure trial and error. I am not an expert, but am happy to share with you the way that I do things (which may be the "right" way ... or the "wrong" way ... just sayin').
I also design and sell patterns through my Etsy shop, as well as handmade goodies. Mostly, I sell stuff on Etsy to support my craft addiction, justify my ever-growing craft supply stash, and to support this blog.
Here on this blog, I hope to share with you some tutorials, free embroidery patterns and cross stitch charts, items/colors that inspire me, stuff that I've made, book/pattern reviews, round-ups from around the web, musings about every day life, and the occasional shop update or blog giveaway.
