So, what I ended up doing was what one reader suggested ... to send a cease and desist notice. I found a template using google, and modified it to fit my situation. I sent this to the site owner "Dixie Champoux" through the contact form. I then went and tried to find out which other patterns this person stole. As it turns out all of the patterns that I hunted down using google were stolen from other blogs like mine, and I contacted those designers too to let them know what was going on.
The result is that my pattern has been taken down as well as some others, and I also found out that basically every pattern on that site is stolen .. the cross stitch patterns and every thing! Amazes me that someone out there has such audacity!!!
For you crafters out there, just know that your words and your photos are protected under U.S. copyright laws, and that if someone steals your work they can get in trouble.
Many thanks to you loyal followers. I am getting prepared to start blogging again soon, and have some freebies planned, so stay tuned.
Hugs, Sara :)
P.S. I just went back to check on the losangelesneedlework (dot) com site, and it says that the account has been suspended! Yay!
Good for you for getting that site suspended. I remember doing some birds for you. So sorry to hear about your mom. I know you miss her dearly. Hope you have a good week.
