New Blog Series ... Apple Crafts!

Apple Applique made using Farmdale fabric by Alexander Henry.
Today, I wanted to share with you a new series I will be starting called "Apple Crafts".  It will be sort of like the Spring-time Eggstravaganza, in that I will share a lot of fun tutorials, patterns, and craft ideas in many different techniques all with apples as the theme.  Unlike the Spring-time Eggstravaganza though, I will not be condensing a ton of projects into a pre-determined time frame.  Instead, I will be sharing them at random times ... so you will have to be on the look out!

Being from Michigan, and having so many apple orchards nearby, I have always loved apples ... eating them, drawing them, apple fabric, going to cider mills in the fall, etc.  I figured this is a perfect time to start some apple crafting fun, because many of you are probably preparing to make teacher gifts ... am I right?  And somehow, through the years, apples have become almost synonymous with elementary school, and especially elementary school teachers.  I wonder how that occurred?  I guess I have always assumed that students used to bring apples as gifts to their teachers, but I am not altogether sure about that.  Hmm ... something to look into.   But anyways, be on the look out for some apple fun, and apple craft ideas.  I will probably be posting apple craft ideas up until around the first or second week of June, and then will add some more in the fall when the kids are back to school, and we are heading out to the orchards for some apple picking and hot cider!

Hugs, Sara :)
